Central Coast Chamber of Commerce & Industry Awards

INDUSTRY AWARDS DINNER 2011

The 2011 Awards dinner was held Saturday 22nd October at the Ulverstone Civic centre. Guest speaker was Grant O'Brien, newly appointed CEO of Woolworths Australia. Originally from Penguin, Grant spoke of the journey from being an electrical apprentice with Geoff Cooper Electrical in Burnie through a number of positions including his own venture, Lauderdale Larder and (at the same time!) accountant/market manager/shelf packer at Purity Supermarkets to eventually arrive at the position of CEO. Michael paid tribute to a number of people who have helped along the way; truly an inspiring story. Woolworths currently have 3200 stores across Australia, New Zealand and Asia and directly employ over 200,000 people and indirectly employ a further 400,000
